Beyond Reality
26 August
Through a masterful command of surrealist expression, six artists—April Stewart, Bowen Wu, Chang Liu, Caiyun Chen, Ella Grace Mitchell, and YY Wang—collaboratively dissolve the rigid boundaries between tangible reality and the boundless reach of the subconscious. This exhibition serves as a liminal space where the familiar becomes strange and the impossible becomes felt.
The artists employ a rich tapestry of dreamlike landscapes and highly individualized symbolic languages to guide the viewer through a labyrinth of "ordered madness." Each piece acts as a portal, transporting the audience into fragmented worlds where the logic of the waking mind no longer applies. Beneath these fantastical surfaces lies a rigorous interrogation of the contemporary human condition: the friction within our modern relationships, the haunting beauty of isolation, and the labyrinthine quest for self-identity. This collection is not merely an escape from reality, but a profound reflection upon it—a mirror held up to the subtle, often overlooked psychological tremors that define our social existence.
